Movie- Dasavatharam
Cast- Kamal Hasan, Asin, Napoleon, Mallika Sheravat
Director- K S Ravikumar
Music- Himesh Reshmiya
Kollywood’s mega budget Dasavatharam finally reached big screen, in an all India release here today. There were huge queues outside various multiplexes in Chennai and shows were in advance house full thanks to online ticket booking. This was the hype and craze of movie in Tamilnadu.
Movie was a treat for those who believe in experimental cinema and some added filmi masala which included special effect stunt scene, item number with mallika Sheravat and 10 avtars of Kamal Hassan ensured that viewers will go to cineplex atleast once out of curiosity. The movie does not disappoint any one. Kamal Hassan is one of the most gifted and skillful actors in Indian cinema. His acting prowess has been praised both in Bollywood and Kollywood. In this movie again Kamal Hassan has performed beautifully the uphill task of playing 10 different characters with versatile background quite authentically. He is a superb actor when it comes to changing his appearances. His gate up of 95 years old lady, Scientist, Terrorist, Telugu CBI officer, all are conveyed with astonishing ease.
Movie is all about a research product which is very deadly.if consumed, not only for the one who consumes it but for the people in near vicinity. This reseach product is changed with a parcel in shear confusion and then the scientist Kamal Hassan has to come to India illegally in the parcel box of the flight. Terrorist Kamal Hassan follows the scientist Kamal Hassan to India and there are frequent clashes with high profile action packed stunt scenes. One Judo master Japanese Kamal Hassan adds spice to the stunt scenes of the movie. Story revolves around the search of the parcel by scientist kamal Hassan and terrorist Kamal Hassan which is with an old lady avtar of Kamal Hassan.
Movie is a mix of astonishing acting of Kamal Hassan, good music by Himesh Reshamiya and technological excellence. Asin has been ordinary and ineffective in this movie. All other characters had very little to offer.
Overall a must watch for all cine lovers.
Rating- 3.5/5

Biography
Kajol is a volcano — who eclipsed all her contemporaries by her supreme poise and bubbly screen presence.
That she would be unconventional was expected since she happens to be the daughter of one of filmdom’s most bohemian and liberal minded actresses, Tanuja. Like mother, like daughter they say! And so, apart from the talent lineage that she has inherited from her mother and grandmother, Shobhana Samarth, her mother’s sharp wit and couldn’t care less attitude have naturally rubbed off on her too!
But when Kajol did finally enter the film industry one day, she took even her family by surprise. She would invariably bury her nose in a book in her free time and seldom seemed inclined to pursue an acting career. Nor did she ever evince any interest in the lure of fame and glamour.
As luck would have it, Gautam Rajadhyaksha, ace lensman, happened to be a close family friend who decided to cast her in his first production. Since studies per se didn’t excite the teenager, she said ‘yes’ to the offer merely to test the waters! And thus Bekhudi was born!
The film wasn’t earth shattering, as the cash registers proved within a few weeks of its release. What was otherwise established remains etched in viewers’ minds firmly. Forever. For, here was an actress whose effervescence sparkled beyond the cardboard images that actors have to live with all their lives.
Also, as she did not belong to any school of acting, she had in her a wild streak that made her a natural before the camera. Cinema aficionados adored her style — normal girl-next-door but one with a sharp focus and conviction. She refused to be dressed to the nines (a habit she retains even today despite her superstar status) and instead substantiated a believable image that every age group lapped up.
Needless to add that she was flooded with offers — a rare occurrence in Mumbai where actors are written off every Friday after a flop! But Kajol became the first choice of many directors who wanted to have a go at presenting this ‘unfilmi’ heroine in their ventures! What followed was Abbas Mustan produced Baazigar with Kajol and Shahrukh Khan in the lead, which did roaring business across the country. A suspense thriller with fast paced lilting music had Kajol in the role of an unsuspecting girl whose sister gets mysteriously killed. As a young determined girl, she displayed commendable range, steadfastly pursuing to bring the murderer to book. Yet again, she declined to doll up like an overdone Christmas tree, keeping in mind the distressed young character’s state of despondency. The film also gave a new hit pair — Shahrukh and kajol — whose onscreen chemistry endeared them to the masses overnight. So much so that people started comparing their sizzling song and dance sequences to those of Raj kapoor-Nargis and Dharmendra-Hema Malini.
In quick succession came, Yeh Dillagi, a frothy romance with Saif and Akshay Kumar, Hulchul with Ajay Devgan, Udhar Ki Zindagi (where she played Jeetendra’s granddaughter) and Karan Arjun with Shahrukh again. Rakesh Roshan directed Karan Arjun turned out to be one of his biggest blockbusters and though Kajol had hardly any role to speak of, she benefited immensely from its success.
And in the year 1995 again, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge hit the silver screen, a Yashraj banner film directed by Aditya Chopra, Kajol’s friend. The novel treatment and modern day storyline about NRIs made an electrifying impression on the bubble gum generation. And Kajol, in her role, oozed brazen nonchalance and rare oomph with great gusto. She even did a towel dance (Mere khawabon mein jo aaye…), a naughty titillating teasing number that could have bordered on the vulgar and obscene, but she handled the song with an impish charm and glint in her eyes, never pandering to the male gaze! Actually that’s one of her other assets — letting her hair down in a fancy-free world she conveys the feeling of joie de vivre with élan. And panache. And seems to thoroughly enjoy herself.
Ishq and Gupt (1997) further consolidated her star standing. What was surprising to note was her total indifference to her ranking and she turned down several plum assignments, carefully selecting to play characters she found believable. Or banners she found comfortable working for. She never went on assigning spree unlike others and enjoyed a quiet dignified lifestyle far removed from the pretentious world of make believe and showmanship!
Another childhood friend, Karan Johar, made Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with her best costar, Shahrukh and her cousin, Rani Mukherjee. Based loosely on the comic strip, Archie, the film became yet another milestone
