The Dark Knight- Movie Review!
Movie- The Dark Knight
Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast-Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman
A masterpiece!! If I had to put this into one word. This movie of Christopher Nolan, is a must watch for everyone even if he is not a cinema guy. One of the most awaited movie worldwide after tragic death of Heath Ledger to an accidental prescription-drug overdose in January hit news worldwide and curiousity with sympathy factor was enough to make this movie very hot sellable news. With worldwide heavy expectations and curiosity, it was under heavy pressure to cope with this expectation level but Christopher Nolan comes up with such a splendid work that it exceeded the expections of everyone included critics. Christopher Nolan’s film is a wonderful work of art that will leave you staggering from the theatre, stunned by its scope and complexity. It is much better movie than its predecessor Batman Begins in every aspect.
Jonathan Nolan along with his director brother Christopher Nolan presents a unique mix of comedy and philosophy this time for viewers.
In first hour story revolves around Batman’s inner struggle about the need of his existence as Batman. Batman finds hard to find reason for his continuation with his role of Batman as Gotham attorney Harvey Dent (aaron eckhart) has taken the battle against organised crime in his hand with help from Lt Gordon (Gary Oldman).
Amidst temptation of returning to normal life with Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and leaving crime on hands of administration, movie present typical concept of existence crisis of super-heroes.
but not for long as super villain or not so super but super hillarious with witty one liners guru arrives on the scene with fear and terror strikes the nerves of the city.
This joker isn’t that funny as he might appear so by his appearnce. He enjoys the destruction of Gotham with great intensity with some chinks of humor which does nothing but sends fear to spines of viewers. His intentions are to create chaos in the city and then enjoy watching the fear factor, destruction and terror-scarred faces. Some of cleverly used sarcastic comments like “you complete me” from Jerry Maguire of Tom Cruise trickles viewers. Christopher has made the role of the joker so powerful that it is no longer a movie of Batman alone and the question of good’s superiority over evil seem to evacuate minds when Heath Ledger stealing the show most often.
Wally Pfister’s cinematography scores as the scenes filmed are marvellous and leave the viewer with his finger under teeth with amazement.
Batman (Christian Bale) is consistent with his mystic performance which is again impressive. Return of Batman’s butler Alfred (Michael Caine) and Gadget master (Morgan Freeman) adds color to the movie.
Eckhart surprises in his role after his impressive performance in Thank You For Smoking and seeps into his role of law and order person which changes color in the climax and reveals the secret of evil association.
Overall without arguement people will agree that movie will go down in the history as a classic. IMDB already has a staggering high rating of the movie 9.5 which is expected to come down though. A real treat from Christopher Nolan to world cinema.

Kismat Konnection – Movie Review!
Director- Aziz Mirza
Cast- Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Om Puri, Juhi Chawla
Music – Preetam
‘Painful Time waste of 3 hours!’ was one of few highlighting remarks of viewers after watching much awaited movie of Aziz Miza who had distanced himself from movies after death of his wife. Aziz, who earlier has directed movies like Yes Boss, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Chalte Chalte, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani previously did not choose SRK this time for the role which he wanted a teen looking guy so who could have been a better choice than new lover-boy of silverscreen Shahid Kapoor. a lot of hype was created by media about the movie as its return movie of veteran Aziz Mirza and there was curiosity about chemistry between Shahid and Vidya Balan who looks much older to Shahid. Movie was being seen as one of the big release of the year and industry pinned its hope on the movie with crores of business at stake.
Movie is about an architect Raj Malhotra who is devoid of any luck in his life as whatever he put his hands into, culminates in failure though he is a very talented architect. Being a topper in every walk of life, he still does not find luck favouring him on any occassion. His friends believe he would grace the cover of the Times Magazine in 3 years. 5 years pass by and Raj is still struggling for his first big break.
So frustrated Shahid is told by an orator Hasina Bano (Juhi Chawla) that a lucky charm will change his luck entirely and so enters Priya (Vidya Balan ) who is fighting for the survival of a community center. Raj’s luck takes a U turn and he, while romancing with Priya grabs a deal with Om Puri to build a shopping complex. Problems start when he finds out that place where he is planing to build shopping complex is the same community center which Priya is fighting for its survival.
Movie is trademark Aziz Mirza’s light romantic comedy but unlike his previous movies Chalte Chalte and Yes Boss, it completely lacks the execution which ruins the otherwise good movie. No balance in romance and comedy, very ordinary dialogue delivery, technical flaws and average music are the main features of the movie. Shahid is ever evolving and he does good typical SRK role with impressive balance while Vidya is just OK. Juhi is superb as usual so is Om Puri in their short roles. Nothing else is there in the movie for viewers. Even the concept of lady luck has lost sheen as it has been repeated in a number of movies.
Do not spend 100 or more bucks on this movie unless you are not going to watch the movie in the hall
(lover’s!! listening??) or you are fan of Aziz Mirza.

Dasavatharam Exclusive Movie Review!!!
Movie- Dasavatharam
Cast- Kamal Hasan, Asin, Napoleon, Mallika Sheravat
Director- K S Ravikumar
Music- Himesh Reshmiya
Kollywood’s mega budget Dasavatharam finally reached big screen, in an all India release here today. There were huge queues outside various multiplexes in Chennai and shows were in advance house full thanks to online ticket booking. This was the hype and craze of movie in Tamilnadu.
Movie was a treat for those who believe in experimental cinema and some added filmi masala which included special effect stunt scene, item number with mallika Sheravat and 10 avtars of Kamal Hassan ensured that viewers will go to cineplex atleast once out of curiosity. The movie does not disappoint any one. Kamal Hassan is one of the most gifted and skillful actors in Indian cinema. His acting prowess has been praised both in Bollywood and Kollywood. In this movie again Kamal Hassan has performed beautifully the uphill task of playing 10 different characters with versatile background quite authentically. He is a superb actor when it comes to changing his appearances. His gate up of 95 years old lady, Scientist, Terrorist, Telugu CBI officer, all are conveyed with astonishing ease.
Movie is all about a research product which is very deadly.if consumed, not only for the one who consumes it but for the people in near vicinity. This reseach product is changed with a parcel in shear confusion and then the scientist Kamal Hassan has to come to India illegally in the parcel box of the flight. Terrorist Kamal Hassan follows the scientist Kamal Hassan to India and there are frequent clashes with high profile action packed stunt scenes. One Judo master Japanese Kamal Hassan adds spice to the stunt scenes of the movie. Story revolves around the search of the parcel by scientist kamal Hassan and terrorist Kamal Hassan which is with an old lady avtar of Kamal Hassan.
Movie is a mix of astonishing acting of Kamal Hassan, good music by Himesh Reshamiya and technological excellence. Asin has been ordinary and ineffective in this movie. All other characters had very little to offer.
Overall a must watch for all cine lovers.

Movie Review : Sarkar Raj (2008)
Ram Gopal Verma had a point to prove in the bollywood after the disastrous sequel of Sholey- RGV Ki Aag and he does it with style by his newly released movie – Sarkar Raj. He is the best in the business when it comes to the movies of duo of politics and crime genre.
With the sequel of earlier box office successful and critically acclaimed Sarkar, he had a bigger task of taking the legend ahead while narrating a new drama; and to a decent degree he succeeds in carrying the legacy forward. While prequel was inspired from Francis Ford Coppola’s classic Godfather 1, sequel draws no inspiration from Godfather 2 and it’s an original script by Ramu himself and Prashant Pandey. The script is tightly held throughout the movie and is almost flawless.
In the sequel, Sarkar aka Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) takes a backseat as son Shankar Nagre (Abhishek Bachchan) takes hold of the family empire. An NRI industrialist Anita Ranjan (Aishwarya Rai) approaches the Nagre family with a power plant project to be set in the local lands of Maharashtra under Sarkar’s domain. After initial reluctance, Sarkar gives a go ahead to the venture which soon takes shape of a political conspiracy.
Ramu’s narration of the story has its own style. His stories are strongly bonded with strong characters still characters never supersede the script. Every character neatly performs under the boundaries of the story and superb narration makes a perfectly glued characters and story. In this movie also RGV has kept the theme of the prequel intact with popular “Govinda-Govinda” chanting. In some parts movie takes repetitive tone of its prequel especially in the portrayal of villain characters. Characters are moulded in same set of minds like in the prequel and it quits the freshness of the script.
Ramu adopted new character responsibility when he reversed the roles of Amitabh Bachhan and Abhishek Bachhan in the sequel. While Abhishek Bachhan is side watcher in the first half of the prequel and take the front lead in later half, in sequel Abhishek leads in the first half and Big B takes command in the later half.
Though entire movie is well knit with its marvelous script, what leaves you breathless is the climax of the story when new surprises emerges leaving you amazed with beautiful and logical explanation. Dialogues are meaningful and well though of. Screenplay of the climax is flawless and work of Amitabh Bachhan on the screen pays off well.
From acting’s point of view Aish is better, Govind Namdev, Saiyaji Shinde and Upendra Lamaye typical RGV characters. Amitabh Bachhan is ever evolving and anything is insufficient to describe his acting prowess. But the major attraction of this movie is Abhishek Bachhan’s performance. We have seen the hint of talent he has in his earlier movies – Yuva, Guru and Sarkar. He has grown better and better with every movie and it seems Big B can be proud of the way junior B has commanded in his past movies. This movies marks the new beginning in Abhishek’s career. He is definitely in the race of country’s finest acting talent all time. He is calm, evolving gracious and self confident. He can become true successor of Big B , if continued on this path.
Overall must watch for all who enjoys movies. A masterpiece to watch.

Movie Review : Aamir (2008)
Aamir is an intriguing tale of politico-conspiracy thriller genre. It’s a debut movie for Rajiv Khandelwal.
It’s a story of a doctor who was living his peaceful and comfortable life in London and all of a sudden he is amidst of enigmatic conspiracy, criminal world and scapegoat of terrorist activities. Aamir Ali who returns from London is surprised to see no one at air port to receive him at the airport from his family. In a dramatic scene, he finds out that his family has been kidnapped by a terrorist group and if he wants to save their life he will have to follow their instruction. Horrified and scared Aamir follow their instruction and thus start his never ending- traumatic journey through narrow , dirty, unknown Mumbai lanes.
Eventually he figures out that he is being involved in a bombing conspiracy. Story also draws inspiration from the theme of Muslim Victimization in the wake of terrorism in the movies of this year like Shaurya, Khuda Ke liye, Black and White, A Hope and Little Sugar. Movie ultimately tries to raise the ubiquitous question – do you choose your destiny or does destiny choose you?
The movie does well in the first half when the story is fast, well bound and well shot with technical excellence. Cameragraphy is good with disturbing camera effects, focus on eyes of Aamir who is running wildly in strange lanes of Mumbai,-horrified, scared and confused. His run scenes are exceptionally well shot and Rajiv’s natural acting is a delight to watch as a common man. The background is well placed with the pace of the movie.
But movie ends rather meekly with some illogical and unsolved questions like why Aamir was chosen for this mission. Its fails in the climax as story becomes loose and untidy.
Movie has its plus points in the acting of Rajiv Khandelwal’s performance as he has played the role of common man. He has shown remarkable talent and we will surely see more of him in coming future.
Despite its all setbacks movie should be applauded for its daring steps and keeping it away from the typical bollywood masala of love angle, item numbers, and songs. Those who like experiments and movies different from Mundane bollywood stuff , are advised to watch the movie.
