Shamita Shetty will dance for ‘Hari Puttar’!

It seems item numbers have become integral part of movies nowadays. No matter subject demands it or not, item number has been accepted as a proven formula to gather viewers in Bollywood. Now Shamita Shetty has made news when Hari-Puttar production house confirmed that she is going to perform an ‘item number’ in the movie.

When Shamita Shetty was contacted, she said that it’s not new for her to do an item number but right now she is busy with her own production house since movie will start from the end of the year only. Shamita has already done item numbers including popular ‘Sharara Shara’.

Shamita Shetty defended herself when she was asked if she is doing the movie just to cash in her ‘sex symbol’ image, saying whatever she is doing is for the demand of characters and not because people like her exposed figure.

Hari Puttar has nothing to do with J K Rowling’s Harry Potter; instead this is a movie about a naughty kid which is being played by child actor Zain Khan. Movie will be shot in Mudh-Island.

Ash and Meryl Streep together in a Hollywood Movie!

According to our sources, American Production house which produced ‘Chaos’ a french movie, is planning to bring Ashwarya and Merryl Streep together in a Hollywood movie.

Says a source, “They ran the concept with Meryl and Ash and they were game .They need to Americanize the theme because Chaos was a very French movie. But yes, in principle Ash is on for this film.”

“Yes, Sarkar Raj also came out with my film. So what?”-: Rajiv Khandelwal.

rajeev khandelwal
TV turned bollywood debutant Rajiv Khandelwal is not at all worried about competition between heavyweight and starry ‘Sarkar Raj’ and his movie Aamir which released together last friday.
“I don’t think of the hurdles. Yes, Sarkar Raj also came out with my film. So what? The minute you stop focusing on the finishing line and start looking around, you are finished,” said the latest entrant in Bollywood.

Rajiv Khandelwal is not a new name for Indian viewers as he was a superstar in TV industry before entering in Bollywood.. He acted in Ekta Kapoor’s famous ‘Kahi To Hoga’.
Rajiv also rubbished the claims that his debut movie is a carbon copy of Cellular’- a famous Hollywood film. In Aamir Rajiv is seen talking on mobile quite a lot.

“The minute I heard the script I loved the sound of it. The idea of my character roaming anxiously in the crowded areas of Mumbai, taking instructions on the phone from mysterious people, really caught my attention,” said Rajiv. “But it’s not a copy of the Hollywood film Cellular. People jumped to the conclusion when they saw me running helter-skelter with a cell phone,” added the actor.
Rajiv’s is wary of his habit of loosing mobiles so often. “I lost my phone last month. Then again last week I dropped it on the beach and lost the phone and all my numbers at a time when I needed to invite all my friends and associates for my premiere.” – lamented the handsome wiry actor.
While shooting the film the actor had an interesting encounter with a female fan. It happened in the crowded Dongri area where Rajiv was shooting Aamir with hidden cameras, hoping he wouldn’t be recognised. Unfortunately, a woman fan jumped out of the crowd and accosted Rajiv, recognising him as Sujal, the character from Ekta Kapoor’s soap Kahiin To Hoga that brought him fame.
“We were shooting on the road in Dongri where I had to run across the street. And there couldn’t be a re-take for obvious reasons. Suddenly this woman spotted me from a taxi. She stopped her vehicle mid-street, got out and started screaming my name.” “The camera was rolling. I told her I needed to cross the street before the lights changed from red to green. She wouldn’t listen. So I gently pushed her hands away and crossed as per the script. That shot of he woman stopping me is in the film.”
Shooting Aamir was a great challenge for Rajiv. “We shot for 28 days on the streets of Mumbai. Except a shot in an airport washroom, everything has been shot outdoors in some of the most congested areas of Mumbai. We first tried shooting with normal cameras. But that didn’t work. Coming from television when people in Dharavi and Dongri saw cameras pointing at me, they immediately recognised me.” –Rajive explains.

His work has been appreciated in his debut movie both by viewers and public. “My most cherished moment was when Hema Maliniji after seeing Aamir said, ‘Welcome to the film fraternity,’ said a thrilled Khandelwal.

Aamir Khan thinks Genelia is next Juhi

geneliaOur Deshpremi aka Aamir khan seems to be heavily impressed with Genelia, actress apposite to Imran Khan who is Amir Khan’s cousin in their debutant movie Jaane tu Ya Jaane na.

When Aamir was asked what he thinks about Genelia, ever buoyant Aamir khan laughed and said-“ She reminds me of Juhi Chawla in Quamat se Qyamat tak. Jaane tu ya jaane na is a fresh campus, light romatic, breezy movie.

Everyone is only talking about Imraan Khan, my nephew, but when I saw some portions of the film, Genelia strongly reminded me of Juhi Chawla from QSQT. For Juhi too it was not her first film and she had come in two or three films before that but after QSQT released, everyone thought that it was Juhi’s first film.

Similarly Genelia too had done a couple of films before but when people will see her in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na everyone will immediately identify with her character.”

Music Review : Ada…a way of life

ada musci review Music Album- Ada…a way of life
Artist- A R Rehman
Singer- Rashid Ali, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Viviane Chaix, Chitra, Sukhwinder Singh, Naresh Iyer, Udit Narayan, Parul Mishra & Jayachandran

A R Rehman is back with a break and this year he has many releases under his belt. His last music was heard in Jodha- Akbar which was a reasonably hit. Now A R Rehman has issued his own Album – Ada…a way of life. He once again has come up with some melodious and sweet music.

Song Ada (Male version)
Song is sung by a newcomer Rashid Ali whose voice reminds of Rehman himself. Rashid Ali has Sufi touch in his voice and he deoes complete justice with the song. Impressive rhythm with jazz effect. Typical Rehman song which creates its effects slowly slowly and becomes masterpiece.

Hawa Sun Hawa ( Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik)
Alka Yagnik’s voice seems fresh in this song unlike her recent compositions. Whenever Sonu says “hawa”, there is hollowness to his voice that makes you feel like a gush of air just passed across you. Beautiful flute interludes. I’ve always felt Sonu’s pronunciations are brilliant. A completely refreshing song. Flute is very sweet in the middle of the song.

Gum Sum (Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik)
Extremely talented Sonu sings this ordinary composition brilliantly. His variations are flawless and notes on target. Beautiful beats to give your head a high roll. Ending of the song leaves you surprised with increasing strumming rock effect.

Gulfisha (Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan & Vivian Chaix)
The song opens with Vivian’s chanting of what sounds to me like Parseltongue. And Sunidhi is one person who can beautifully carry off a base voice as well as high notes. The way both Sonu & Sunidhi sing the word “Ada” is very flirtatious. Finally, there is an alaap done by Sunidhi which gradates to Vivian’s chanting and closes on a very mysterious note.

Meherbaan (A R Rehmaan)
Arguable the best song of the album. What godly voice A R Rehmaan has with magical effect of his pronounciation. Simply Aswome to hear. A delight for all music lovers. It can’t get better than this.

Tu mera hai (Chitra, Sukhwinder Singh, Naresh Iyer)
This is more of a typical bolllywood song with Chitra singing well. Dark, serious and catchy song which is reasonably ok. Naresh Iyer is good too. This song transform into Gajhal in the last part.

Hai Dard (Udit Narayan)
Use of heavy metal and Arabic interludes in the middle combined with Udit Narayan’s talent has elevated this ordinary sad song to much better and its again a very decent sad song to listen to.

Ishq Ada ( Parul Mishra)
Ishq ada is sung by Parul Mishra which is a newcomer like Rashid. Song is beautifully sang by her as innocence of her voice leaves a soothing effect on audience.

Milo Wahan Wahan (Alka Yagnik, Jayachandran)
This song was made for Alka and she has mastery in this type of songs. A beautiful composition and well sang. Jayachandran is ok with little overstressed pronounciation.

Meherbaan (Instrumental)
Meherbaan is the best song in the album and Rehmaan well realize it so he might have decided to release a Instrumental version of the song. Sanjeev Thomas impresses with his guitar skills.

Though all the songs are beautiful but my favourite song in this Album is Meherbaan by AR Rehman , the song by God himself. A R Rehman is priceless and I would thank him for giving such a beautiful album once again
